Which magnets can I use for my Carrera racetrack?

We are no experts in this field, but we can recommend some of our magnets for tuning tests.

The main suppliers of racetracks with metal rails are Carrera, Scalextric and Ninco. Some of these brand race cars have a neodymium magnet on the bottom side to increase the grip on the metal rail. Depending on the design, this magnet is either pressed into a special plastic form and screwed to the bottom side of the vehicle or directly built into the car. The distance between magnet and racetrack can be up to 8 mm.

Cleaning the racetrack

Our customer H.D.M. is an avid Scalextric racer. In order for a race to run smoothly, the tracks have to be in tip-top shape. The cars get stuck sometimes due to dust or grease.
The solution: Fasten a cloth to the metal tracks with block magnets 15x15x3 mm and have a Scalextric car drag it around the track, which removes dust and grease. Then you can repeat the procedure with a cotton ball. That gets rid of all impurities.
